Roskilde Festival is the biggest North-European music and culture festival, which takes place in Denmark from 30 June – 7 July. This is not just about music and big headliners, but there is also a non-profit charity society behind the festival.
Roskilde Festival is a non-profit festival, which means the organizers donate all profits to charity after the festival. They support humanitarian, cultural and non-profit projects all around the world. This year they are focusing on equality, because they believe equality between people is essential for a socially sustainable society of the world. In this cause this year they are working with a variety of NGOs who are facilitating events, workshops and debates during the festival. Find more here.
Roskilde Festival is being organized since 1971, but this year’s headliner’s list is incredible! The biggest name is the best-selling rapper of all time, Eminem. He has sold over 172 million albums and singles worldwide, earned 42 platinum certifications and became the first rapper to won an Academy Award in Best Original Song category with our very favourite song ‘Loose Yourself’. Mr. Marshall Mathers will perform for the first time in Denmark.
To continue the headliner’s list you can catch the hitmaker Bruno Mars on stage who will bring a little bit of ‘Uptown Funk’ to Roskilde on the 5th of July. At this year the English music scene will be represented by Gorillaz with their new album ‘Humanz’, the 22 year old Dua Lipa and the trip hop group Massive Attack amongst many others.
Hip-hop and rap is very significant in today’s music culture and at Roskilde Festival you will get a very wide selection from the best artists: Joey BadA$$, Stormzy, Vince Staples and Anderson .Paak will hit the stage.
